Utility Rebates
The incentive level for
program year 2010 is $2.46 per watt for residential and $2.24 per watt for commercial. Incentives are calculated based
on the total DC capacity of a solar electric system, determined by
the sum of the DC capacity of all modules installed. The incentive
covers up to 10 kWdc for residential customers and up to 100 kWdc
for commercial, governmental, and non-profit customers.

Energy Incentives for
Individuals in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
Residential Energy Efficient Property Credit
IRS (Section 1122):
This nonrefundable energy tax credit will help individual taxpayers
pay for qualified residential alternative energy equipment, such as
solar hot water heaters, geothermal heat pumps and wind turbines.
The new law removes some of the previously imposed maximum amounts
and allows for a credit equal to 30 percent of the cost of qualified
property.

Sec. 11.27. Solar and Wind-Powered Energy Devices
(a) A person is entitled to an exemption from taxation of
the amount of appraised value of his property that arises
from the installation or construction of a solar or
wind-powered energy device that is primarily for production
and distribution of energy for on-site use.
Austin Texas has adopted one for one dollar increase in
property value equal to the complete installed cost of
renewable energy such as solar and wind.
